Контроллер узла шины — коплер ЕК1100 предназначен для коммутации модулей ввода/вывода серии ELxxxx с шиной обмена данными EtherCAT. Каждая станция контроля включает в себя один блок ЕК1100, модули вводы/вывода данных в нужном количестве, и терминатор — согласующую нагрузку.

Коплер, подключенный к сети Ethernet, преобразует поток сигналов формата 100BASE-TX в сигналы промышленной шины E-bus. Предусмотрена возможность подключения дополнительных внешних устройств через интерфейс RJ45. Удобство использования коплера ЕК1100 в том, что устанавливают его в любом месте линии, кроме коммутатора.

The EtherCAT Couplers are the link between the EtherCAT protocol at fieldbus level and the EtherCAT Terminals. Since communication in the EtherCAT system is continuous through to the last terminal, the coupler only converts the physical layer without changing the process data stream.

There is a selection of three different technologies:

EtherCAT: ultra-fast communication standard
EtherCAT P: combines communication and power in one cable
EtherCAT G: speeds up to 10 Gbit/s

A distinction is made between a coupler, a junction and an extension. The EtherCAT Coupler is the head station with which the terminal segment starts. The junction can be placed anywhere in the EtherCAT segment and thus allows the setup of a star topology. The extension is plugged into the end of the EtherCAT terminal block and allows a setup with a line topology.

The products are available in different versions, depending on the required physical layer and additional functions.

Копплеры EK1100 соединяют EtherCAT с EtherCAT-модулями (ELxxxx). Одна станция состоит из копплера EK1100, произвольного количества EtherCAT-модулей и одного терминирующего модуля. Копплер преобразовывает проходящие телеграммы из формата Ethernet 100BASE-TX в формат телеграм сигналов шины E-bus.

Копплер подключен к сети через верхний Ethernet-интерфейс. Нижний гнездовой разъем RJ 45 может использоваться для подключения дополнительных EtherCAT-устройств в той же цепи. В сети EtherCAT, копплер EK1100 может устанавливаться в любом месте секции передачи Ethernet-сигнала (100BASE-TX) – за исключением установки непосредственно на коммутаторе. Для установки на коммутаторе подходит копплер BK9000 (для компонентов K-bus).

The EK1110-0043 EtherCAT EJ Coupler connects the compact Embedded PCs from the CX series and the attached EtherCAT Terminals with the EtherCAT plug-in modules on an application-specific circuit board (signal distribution board).

The E-bus signals and the supply voltage of the field side U_P are routed directly to the signal distribution board via a plug connector at the rear of the EtherCAT EJ Coupler. Thanks to the direct coupling of the Embedded PC and EtherCAT terminals with the EtherCAT plug-in modules on the PCB, no EtherCAT extension (EK1110) or EtherCAT Coupler (EJ1100) is required. The system and field supply of the EK1110-0043 is provided by the power supply unit of the Embedded PC.

The Embedded PC can be extended with EtherCAT Terminals that are not yet available in the EJ system, for example. The pre-assembled subsystem, consisting of a printed circuit board with mounted DIN rail, Embedded PC and EtherCAT plug-in modules, can be tested in advance and subsequently integrated into the machine assembly as a complete unit.

The EJ1100 EtherCAT Coupler is the link between the EtherCAT protocol at fieldbus level and the EtherCAT plug-in modules. The coupler converts the passing telegrams from Ethernet 100BASE-TX to E-bus signal representation. A module station consists of a coupler and any number of EtherCAT plug-in modules, which are automatically detected and individually displayed in the process image.

The EJ1100 has two RJ45 sockets. The upper Ethernet interface is used to connect the coupler to the network; the lower socket serves for the optional connection of further EtherCAT devices in the same segment.

The coupler supplies the attached plug-in modules with the current required for communication. The coupler can supply a maximum of 3.3 V and 2.2 A.
